Bear Run was conceived out of a dream shared by a couple in the autumn of their life.  It was a desire to own a quaint cabin, a bit of heaven in the mountains – a soft landing at the end of retirement, a place to share with family and friends, a place to hear the laughter of children, a place of solitude and quiet reflection.
Our dream started its manifestation when we found a lot in the Homestead off of Wears Valley Road and soon we began the process of drawing out our little mountain cabin on a scratch pad.  Many hours were spent talking together, sharing ideas, disagreeing, agreeing, and finalizing our plans.  My husband and I spent weeks and months talking to lenders and builders and we felt we had finally arrived at turning our vision into reality. We were so excited!

We spent many weekends driving back and forth from Atlanta to watch its transformation.  Unfortunately, life has a way of changing in the midst of plans.  Our dream took a turn.  A chosen unscrupulous builder with his heart set on deceit and love of money at all costs ended our dream the way we had invisioned and changed our life as we knew it.

After what had became multiple obstacles, intentional delays on the builders part, he breeched our contract and walked away with a considerable draw of monies.  Our cabin was 60% completed!  Our loan was 90% exhausted and we were out of money and options…
Our lending institution did not offer any alternatives to recovery but did fund us enough to complete our cabin which had now become way over budget!  We contacted an attorney to represent us in an effort to fight for justice.
