The Homestead Community is very spacious coummunity dedicated to nature and the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains. Wildlife surrounds Bear Run, and and can be seen from the decks of the cabin at various times. The name Bear Run was given to the cabin because a Black Bear was seen running across the property before construction was completed in March 2007. The community contains private picnic pavilions and hiking trails for those wanting to avoid the hustle and bustle of crowds. Bear Run is convenient to to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Cades Cove, and Townsend. It is also located just outside the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in Wears Valley. Bear Run is in a quiet relaxing location, away from the crowds, yet close and convenient enough to visit Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg without a long drive.

You can also save money on you next vacation, by avoiding expensive hotels that feature to feature do not compare in value to Bear Run. A comparable hotel suite would cost $200+ per night and still not offer the amenities and views found at Bear Run.

For a limited time you can get Bear Run for a very reasonable price. Below are pictures of our cabin, Bear Run.

6-16 to 6-23-07 We had a wonderful week! Once we drove up the hills we didn’t think we would ever go down! There seems to be a wild turkey that likes to visit the home around 4AM each morning. Also saw a red-tail fox. This cabin is great! Thanks for sharing it with others. - The Massoels - Rensselaer, IN…Go Pumas!

6-23 to 6-28-07 What an awesome cabin for another adventure with three generations of our family’s women. This girls weekend out was filled with excitement of the beautiful Smoky Mountains. From lightning storms that struck down the tree outside the master bedroom, shopping in Knoxville, seeing baby bears at Cades Cove and Horseback riding on switchback trails, it has been an amazing vacation. Thanks for all the wonderful memories! - The Ruffino’s The Anderson’s The Dixon’s - Vanleer, TN Williamston, MI Dover, TN

It’s also beautifully decorated, stocked & very comfortable. Our last day here it rained – the most beautiful rainbow I’ve ever seen touched the sky! We will definitely be telling our friends about your place! God Bless from Texas - The Johnson’s - Terry, Manonne, Samantha, Chance & Seth - Diboll, TX

7-28 to 8-4-07 Thanks for all the great memories. We had a great time and the was beautiful! Thanks so much - The Gruer’s & The Swaims - Greensboro, NC

8-4 to 8-11-07 “Bear Run” will forever be a memory of our special family vacation! It was the perfect place to come home to while doing as little or as much as we wanted each day! Thank you for the clue to the “super secret” Wears Valley Park entrance! We used it for our park excursions – and a Pigeon Forge by pass to and from Gatlinburg! For a special dinner we recommend the Greenbriar Restaurant in Gatlinburg! Thank you for everything! - Steven & Dianna Legg and Karen, Kurt, Emona & Cori Walworth - Rotunda West, FL Chelsea, MI

8-13 to 8-20-07 Had a wonderful relaxing week at Bear Run! What a beautiful relaxing “home”. (I wouldn’t call this a cabin!!) It was so hot we spent a lot of the week just reading and enjoying Bear Run. You have done a wonderful job equipping and furnishing everything that is needed. Don loved the up/down driving! I have motion sickness so I preferred sitting at the top! Went to Cades Cove and back through the “secret passage!” We’ll leave that way tomorrow. A wonderful memorable week. Hope to use Bear Run again. Thanks. - Don & Judy Deeson - Vero Beach, FL P.S. We saw the turkey at 7:30PM!

8-23 to 8-25-07 The cabin was so lovely and we had a wonderful time. Hope to come back again. We will send all our friends and family here if they come to Tennessee. Thanks, - John & Sharon Colgan - Stevenson Ranch, CA

8-29 to 9-2-07 To everything there is a time & season. The Jacksons & Reeves as couples have longed for a nice vacation away from home. We longed for vacation that would be memorable. To us, this cabin is beyond words. Everything that we needed was furnished. Thak you so much for the warm invite. We hope to make this an every year event. We were able to see a deer across from the cabin. We went to Cades Cove (Abrams Creek – it’s worth the climb – so keep going, don’t stop), Dixie Stampede was wonderful. Thanks so much, Mr. Sullivan. I would recommend any family to Bear Run Cabin. Thank you again. - The Jackson’s The Reeves - Headland, AL Ozark, AL

9-18 to 9-22-07 We were very picky when looking for cabins & this one met & exceeded our expectations! We had a wonderful time here & hope to return again sometime. The Smoky Mountains are amazing!....Clingman’s Dome, Abrams Falls…wish we had more time to do everything we wanted to. The weather was perfect – could not have had better! All in all….great memories! - Neil & Grace - Baltimore, MD

10-11 to 10-14-07 This home is wonderful! We loved the location and the view also. Everything anyone could want is in this home and the hot tub is awesome after a long day of sightseeing. We will be back as often as possible! - Roberta Power - New Orleans, LA

10-18 to 10-21-07 Wow, what a great fall break! We had a wonderful time and couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful cabin! We’ve stayed in cabins in the area several times, and this has them all beat. We explored the development and found some great trails and views. Great location for each access to the Park without fighting the Gatlingburg traffic. Thanks! - The Pfau Family - Indianapolis, IN

10-22 to 10-25-07 We loved the vacation cabin. It was just like the pictures and more. We enjoyed our few days of fall break, two teachers and a 12 and 9-year old. Cades Cove was worth the drive. We made it to New Found Gap in the park but not to Clingman’s Dome. We shopped the outlets and enjoyed some different food, deep-fried dill pickles! We have never visited this area in the fall but it may become a new destination! The trees seemed to be at near peak for color changing. We loved being on top of a mountain, but our minivan will probably like the flat roads of Indiana better! Thanks for a wonderful experience. - The Harrod’s - Westfield, IN

10-25 to 10-29-07 We had a great time! We have stayed in cabins in the area before, but your home and cabin is by far the best. The cabin felt more like a home and is so nicely decorated. It is so nice to get away from the noisy city just hear the silence & the rustle of the wind in the trees. I was hoping we would see a deer near your home, but maybe next time. We love being out in nature & enjoyed some of the trails. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home. We hope to return in the future. Best wishes always, - Rick & Karen - St. Louis, Missouri

11-4 to 11-11-07 Thanks for making our stay so memorable. The cabin was as beautiful as the scenery. This was a wonderful way to begin our life together. Thank you for the lovely flowers. - Bill & Debbie Jarvis - Jasper, IN

12-24 to 12-28-07 You have read cryptic references to a “secret” way into the park. We poked around until we found it, so we are herewith blowing its cover. When you get to Wears Valley Road via Happy Hollow Road, turn left and watch for Lyons Spring Road on the right. It will take you right to the middle of Little River Road in the park. Laurel Falls & Elkmont will be to the left and Cades Cove to the right. So now you have it all. Beautiful cabin, spectacular setting and a virtual crow-flight to the trails. - The Carlisles - Goolettsville, TN

12-29-07 to 1-1-08 I have no words that are adequate enough to describe this place. It is amazing! After spending two nights in a hotel in Gatlinburg, this is pure heaven! Thank you for opening up your cabin for us to come and experience! May God’s richest blessings be upon this place! - Ray & Kelly Oehrle - Athens, AL
